Palm tree removal in the RedlandsTall palms down safely, trunk and fronds gone.

Palm removal comes up again and again in our Google reviews: Cuban royal palms, a Caribbean date palm, clumps of cane palms. Our qualified arborists take palms down in sections, even close to the house or the power lines, and clear it all away. We work across the Redlands and nearby parts of Brisbane.

Palms in our reviews

Big palms, small palms, whole clumps.

Palms are part of the all-trees, palms-and-shrubs work we do. Here’s what customers have written about:

  • A massive Cuban royal palm
  • A Caribbean date palm
  • Cane palms, from a few to a whole clump: 25-plus canes and three whole palms in one review
  • Two large palms cut up and taken out of a backyard
  • A huge tall palm within metres of a home and power lines

How a palm comes down

Near the house, the pool or the lines?

When there’s no room to simply drop a palm, it comes down in pieces. That’s why every palm job starts with a free look at the height, the access and what’s underneath.

  • The palm taken down in sections from the top
  • The trunk cut into pieces and carried out
  • Fronds and green waste chipped and taken away, unless you’d like the mulch
  • Stump grinding if you want the stump gone too
  • Palms you want to keep cleaned up: dry, dead or diseased fronds cut off
  • Council approval sorted for you if it’s needed

Before you book

Council, cost and a dying palm.

Some trees need council approval before they come down, depending on the tree and where it is. If yours does, we’ll tell you at the quote and can handle the approval for you. See our guide to Redland City Council tree rules.

The price depends on how tall the palm is, how many there are, how easy it is to get to and what’s underneath. Our palm tree removal cost guide walks through it, and every quote is free.

Not sure the palm needs to go? Our guide to the signs of a dying palm tree shows what to look for.

Palm questions

Good to know before we climb.

Something else? Call Andrew on 0431 732 028.

Can you remove a tall palm close to my house or power lines?

Yes. One customer had a huge tall palm within metres of their home and power lines taken care of “quickly and with due care”. We look at the height, the access and what’s underneath when we quote. If a palm is touching or close to a power line, stay well clear and call us.

What happens to the trunk and fronds?

The palm is cut up and taken away. Fronds and green waste are chipped, unless you’d like to keep the mulch.

Can the stump be ground out?

Stump grinding is available: ask for it when you get your quote. We normally grind to about 200 mm below ground level. See stump grinding.

How do I know if my palm is dying?

Our guide to the signs of a dying palm tree covers what to look for, and whether it can be saved.

Do I need council approval?

Sometimes, depending on the tree and the property. We’ll tell you at the quote and can handle the approval for you. See our council rules guide.

How soon can you come?

Quotes are free, 7 days a week, and same-day service is available. For a palm that is about to come down, call any time: we do 24/7 emergency call-outs.
